@Floozyspeak is ready to go, what about this for an idea?

So we’re all impressed with the energy and community that Startup Weekend has brought to Columbus. Dan is ready to do this thing again. I’m ready for it again. But the planning for a possible Startup Weekend Columbus II can wait (at least a year) for me.

So here’s my idea to keep the community and the ideas and implementations flowing. Why don’t we do mini un-branded startup events. With no sponsors. No pre-determined location or time. Just a group of people, say 10 max, getting together and launching products. Ideas could be piched on a wiki, like we did with Startup Weekend Columbus. Whittle it down. Pick an idea. Ten people agree to get together. Then just flesh it out and launch it. If we get enough people interested, we could have one of these things occuring every week. Now that would be cool.

We could create digg style, plinng? style site where ideas are pitched, voted, ranked by highest vote- maybe wikis do this now i dunno.

And then I’d think about doing it once a month, just cause i think every week would be tough with current life commitments, hell i gotta get married soon, note to self, but a monthly gig would be cool.

And I think we could get sponsors to help host, give a pep talk, provide a space or give us some food.

I like that format of the 3hr startup. Maybe put that into a half day sort of thing or dawn to dusk with a mixer at the end so we can hang and actually talk to each other afterwards.

This could be turned into an incredible reality show! Would be way better but less drama than The Apprentice.

OK that was a joke. Don’t anybody get crazy and start calling producers and stuff.

I do like the idea though. Make it even better and make it virtual and spread out across all cities that have had StartUp weekends. Now we are creating something exceptional. Adds another layer to the challenge.
